Meet Lisa

Meet Lisa Birmingham, a guiding light at WRDC for the past 9 years, dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the driving force behind the Gender & DEI Training programs, Lisa passionately works every day to make our world more inclusive.

Lisa’s professional journey has been diverse. Before WRDC, she was a teacher, business consultant, and employee engagement manager at Bell Aliant. She even ventured into entrepreneurship with TLC Communications and contributed as NLOWE’s Regional Coordinator of Business Connections.

Within WRDC, Lisa started as a Program Coordinator for STEM for Girls, gradually taking on roles like Industry Liaison and Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Specialist. Now, as the Manager of Gender DEI Training, she collaborates across departments, gaining a holistic understanding of WRDC.

Lisa’s educational background includes a BA in English and Theatre with a minor in Psychology, plus an Education degree from Memorial University of NL. She’s a certified Psychological Health and Safety Professional, Mediator, Coach, and a Diversity and Inclusion Influencer certified by the Canadian Centre of Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI).

Outside of work, Lisa’s a voracious reader of non-fiction, cherishes time with her granddaughter, Everleigh Rose, and dives into the intriguing world of Quantum physics. She’s a foodie, a lover of all things chocolate, and an explorer of cosmic and spiritual realms.
