Judy is an experienced program facilitator with many years’ experience working in the areas of justice, maternal health, adult/family literacy and other health related community services. She is a strong advocate for women and has served on a variety of local, provincial and national boards.
As a proud Beneficiary of the Nunatsiavut Government, Judy is extremely knowledgeable about barriers and challenges faced by Indigenous women in Labrador. She has actively volunteered since the age of 18. She is the first Labrador and Inuit representative appointed to the Child Death Review Committee, Advisory Committee Member with several projects under Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada since 2008.
Judy currently volunteers to teach cultural foods classes and has been appointed to the Extra Judicial Measures Core Committee for youth and planning committee for the new youth center planned for the new Wellness Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
