What does your typical workday involve?

Collaborate with different developers to build a good project, communicate with colleague and stay up to date on the company projects,  meetings to discuss progress , building app

What do you most love about your profession? Why did you choose this career?

I like to solve problems and learn new things. This job provides me the opportunity to do so. I choose this job because I believe this profession has more demand in the market.

When did you realize you wanted to work in STEM?

I decided to work in STEM related profession when I started studying in Memorial University of Newfoundland.

What were your favorite subjects in school?

Computer Science and economics

What advice would you give girls, who are still in school, who might be considering a career like yours?

Don't afraid to make mistake. Don't worry if you find it hard at first, everything will come together. And just have fun with it!

Why do we need more women in skilled trades and STEM?

Women are more caring and detail oriented. They can provide understanding and maturity to the team.

Who was your role model? What about this person inspires you?

My mother is my role model. She is an owner of a barber shop in Malaysia. She inspires me because she is the reason I am here. She sacrifies her time to earn money and provide a good environment for us. Although she do not have much education, she is able to run a business and manage the whole things. She is a true self-made woman.

What do you do for fun? What are some of your hobbies/activities?

Walking around the city and playing piano.


What superhero do you relate to most? Why?

Not necessarily a hero, but is a Disney movie. I will say I relate to Mulan the most, as she fights along with men, and try to be as good or better than them.
