What does your typical workday involve?
Instructing students in class and labs. Preparation of course materials, guiding and advising the students towards academic success.
What do you most love about your profession? Why did you choose this career?
I love my career because I help one to be succeed in their life. I always dreamt to be an Educator, or some career in educational field, because Education impacts the lives on Earth, more than anything else.
When did you realize you wanted to work in STEM?
From my childhood, I loved studying math and science. But during my high school only I realized the vacuum and challenges for women in career related to these streams. I really wanted to take the challenge and succeed.
What were your favorite subjects in school?
Obviously, Math and Science
What advice would you give girls, who are still in school, who might be considering a career like yours?
Do not step back from your passion, ability, skills or yearning you have towards this area, just because of you are a girl. Like someone would say to you, it’s not suitable for girls. Or you would see someone is having hard time because of girl/women, and so… Nothing would stop you from succeeding, if you really want to achieve, hold that fire within you and work hard.
Why do we need more women in skilled trades and STEM?
First thing is, women are capable, there are lot of opportunities, so women can fill those positions to betterment of their lives and others.
Second thing is, those industries would benefit from the versatilities, women would bring into their positions.
Who was your role model? What about this person inspires you?
I look up and admire all the women who strive to achieve in their personal and professional life. Recent days I am inspired by my sister, who is persistent and achieving in her career.
What do you do for fun? What are some of your hobbies/activities?
I love to listen music, cooking and gardening. I love to be outdoors, hiking, sightseeing, and enjoying mother nature. More to that, I love being with children, playing with them, help them learn things and watching it, helping students to explore things themselves.
Anything else you wish to share?
I want to be part of the success and happiness in the life of people as much as I can, which will fulfil my dream.
