Creating a Respectful Workplace (*CCA Gold Seal Accredited) and Train-the-Trainer Workshops

WRDC’s “Creating a Respectful Workplace” is a highly effective and interactive workshop that can be customized for various occupation types, workplaces and sectors. The content includes the topics of harassment, discrimination, and bullying and examines the ways that leaders, managers, supervisors, and employees can work together to create and maintain a respectful and inclusive work environment.

In 2015, WRDC’s “Creating a Respectful Workplace” workshop received Gold Seal Certification from the Canadian Construction Association. Participants in the Gold Seal Certification Program are granted one credit for this training. Visit Gold Seal Program website.

This workshop is also offered in “Train-the-Trainer” format, intended for human resource and training personnel, allowing them to deliver the workshop internally to new or existing employees. It is important to note the ripple effect that occurs by offering this workshop in a “Train-the-Trainer” format, extending our reach and increasing the number of participants exponentially!

WRDC is highly flexible and adaptive in delivering this training and we look forward to continuing to offer it to a wider audience. Our experienced industry team works with employers to customize workshop content to the specific needs of the organization. That is, WRDC will work with clients to ensure the material addresses any unique issues occurring in their workplace while providing the necessary tools to build and sustain a diverse workforce.

Diversity, Inclusion and You Workshop

Highly effective and interactive session that helps participants navigate the complex issues around diversity and inclusion. Content focuses on the continuous process to an inclusive mindset, an introduction to unconscious bias, and the barriers and benefits to diversity and inclusion. With this increased knowledge and understanding, participants will learn to communicate more effectively and become more inclusive in their workplaces and day to day lives.

Inclusive Leadership

This professional development workshop explores the concept of what it truly means to be inclusive and how to lead diverse teams effectively. As a leader, you are responsible for generating trust, building authentic relationships, and effective teams.  It is vital that you lead by example and inspire excellence in others.

This workshop will help you to develop and apply your skills as an inclusive leader. You will learn more about working with equality and diversity to include all types of people to confidently engage with you as a leader. Leadership is about influencing others through personal attributes and behaviours.

WRDC’s Inclusive Leadership interactive workshop examines how leaders can influence how they engage their employees and will help develop and apply the skills required to be an inclusive leader.  You will learn more about equality and diversity, enabling you to grow your team and your organization, enhance their performance, and improve personal satisfaction.

Managing a Diverse Workforce Workshop

Interactive session for managers, supervisors, and HR professionals that provides a solid understanding of what diversity is, how companies can benefit from it, and how to effectively manage it within their organizations; content focuses on effective communication and management best practices for a diverse and inclusive workforce. A diverse environment is one that includes people from different genders, various backgrounds and identities, who have a variety of interests, beliefs, skills, and opinions. How management and supervisory staff view these differences has a significant impact on the dynamics of the work environment.

The main objective of this workshop is to help participants learn how to successfully manage a diverse and inclusive workforce. Its content focuses on effective communication and management best practices. Participants will be better equipped to communicate with employees and have an increased capacity to benefit from employee’s diverse perspectives, ideas, and approaches.
