Recruitment Assistance
WRDC works with companies to coordinate and host job fairs and provide recruitment assistance. A job fair is a pro-active way for a company to recruit employees.
Some of the advantages WRDC offers include our flexibility, mobility, existing database of women and cost benefits. Offering these services will directly influence employment-matching between qualified women and employers in Newfoundland and Labrador.
WRDC also partners with industry, education, and community stakeholders to coordinate and deliver regional employment information sessions. Sessions are anticipated to be approximately two hours in length, and focus on technology, construction, mining, and oil and gas sectors. Topics will be relevant to the local region and whenever possible, guest speakers are local representatives. These events will provide employers with an opportunity to share information about the various trades and technology careers that are relevant to their business. Sessions will serve as an information hub where women can be linked to existing resources and services as well as local employment opportunities, and network with other women and stakeholders in their region.
Employers will be linked with qualified women, and have an opportunity to influence the growth of a local skilled workforce.
WRDC is frequently asked to help employers fill vacant positions. For example, WRDC partners with employers to promote and advertise employment opportunities through our social media sites and contact lists. Offering these services will directly influence employment-matching between qualified women and employers in Newfoundland and Labrador. We expect that more qualified women will find employment in trades and technology fields and organizations will more effectively fill job openings and as a result, become more diverse.
