Career Development

Career Development

Providing women with exposure to different career possibilities, helping them enroll and succeed in training programs, as well as assisting in job search and career advancement activities are essential to increasing women’s participation in trades and technology.

WRDC’s Career Development Practitioners are located throughout Newfoundland and Labrador in St. John’s, Clarenville, Stephenville, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

OTT Program

WRDC offers a career development program to help women make informed decisions about trades and technology careers: Orientation to Trades and Technology (OTT). Our CDP’s recruit program participants, provide continuous support to those participants and oversee the delivery of the OTT program.

Career Development

There is a great demand from women in Newfoundland and Labrador for information on skilled trades and technology training programs and employment opportunities. WRDC has significant reach to women across the province, and is focused on providing customized supports to help them pursue training and employment in trades and technology.

Information Sessions

WRDC holds information sessions for women across the province to increase awareness of opportunities in trades and technology careers. These sessions are offered in remote, rural, urban and Indigenous communities.
