Niamh (pron. Neeve) is a UX research, design and product strategy leader, primarily focused on the technology and SaaS industry (B2B & B2C). She has over 18 years of progressive experience working with clients in a variety of areas, including eCommerce, Fintech, Education, CleanTech, Energy & Utilities, Social Media/ Marketing Tech, Healthcare/ MedTech, and Government.
Niamh has helped build teams across North America and Europe. She has been described as “a passionate booster of equality and opportunity for everyone in the industry.” She is an active mentor for aspiring UX research and design leaders, and has served on numerous advisory boards and committees. As an in-house employee, she previously worked to Principal/ Head of, and Director levels for companies and organizations including Hootsuite, the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, and Deloitte. On the agency/ consultancy side, she has partnered with a range of clients, from high-growth start-ups that are scaling, to world-class design agencies, and Enterprise Technology / Fortune 500 companies.
Niamh holds a M.A. in Design for Digital Media Technologies (Hons.) from the School of Media, Technological University Dublin, and a BSc. degree in Multimedia and Communications (Hons.), from the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Dublin City University, Ireland. She has also completed certificates and courses with the THNK School of Creative Leadership, UBC, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and Memorial University Newfoundland in design, entrepreneurship, and product management.
Niamh was born in Dublin, Ireland and has worked with teams in Europe and across North America, helping improve products, services and experiences for people worldwide. Since moving to St. John’s, Newfoundland, she has become involved in a variety of volunteer activities including currently serving on the St. John’s International Airport’s passenger advisory panel, and previously serving on the Board of Directors for the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival, for two annual festivals. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, music, film, travelling and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and snow sports.
